This will be a first time breeding for both Tristan and Biddy. Tristan and Biddy are from the Dogwood Hollow line in Tullahoma, TN. Breeders Gary Clements, Geri Clements and Cheryl Mika are long time AKC Breeders of Merit. Through selective breeding they have successfully produced top quality show and performance dogs that live up to the standard of the breed in conformation, type and temperament.
Dogwood Hollow Brittanys is home to multiple Best in Show, Best in Specialty Show, American, Australian and Canadian Champion Brittanys. Over the years the focus has been the same - to offer very well socialized Brittanys that are competitive in the show ring, can work as personal gun dogs, and other canine performance sports, but most importantly, Brittanys that are outstanding companions.
This success has been achieved by seeking out the best of the best for the foundation of their line. Each breeding is carefully planned and researched for health and temperament with the end goal to better the breed. Tristan and Biddy and this litter are no exception to this.
A quick glance at the pedigrees will take you back to some of the most prominent and influential lines in the Brittany breed. Lines of the past, such as Jordean, and Millette, provide a strong foundation. They are linked with some of the most prominent lines of today. Dogwood Hollow, Sanbar, and Castle Brittanys.
We are very pleased to present this litter, which will be Futurity nominated. These puppies will carry the Dogwood Hollow kennel name and have been co-bred with Gary and Geri Clements and Cheryl Mika at Dogwood Hollow. We are grateful to them for all of their expertise and support. We have traveled this journey together and we are so looking forward to what the next generation will bring. Our primary goal is to produce well adjusted, socialized and stable family pets, some of whom may go on to compete in a variety of canine performance sports such as conformation, hunt/field, agility, obedience, flyball, and others. To this end these puppies are being hand-raised and intentionally socialized in our home. We are following the Avidog resources and guidelines for socialization and experiences from birth to week 16. We expect our new puppy owners to continue on with this early socialization model once they leave our home and go to yours through the 16 weeks.
Puppy pictures will be updated weekly, so please follow the blog posts! These puppies will be ready to go to their new families in mid-April 2015.
